The Houston Chinese Folk Music Ensemble is a non-profit music organization founded in 2009 by Chinese residents living in Houston. It is guided by professional artists, joined by professional musicians, and supported by numerous music enthusiasts.

Since its establishment, the ensemble has adhered to the mission of "making friends through music and promoting Chinese folk music." It has consecutively held 11 New Year folk music concerts, with performances extending to Dallas and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The ensemble also hosts music salons and participates in various performances organized by community art groups and organizations, totaling over a hundred events. These efforts have yielded significant artistic achievements and social benefits, earning recognition and praise from mainstream American society. The Houston city government and Harris County have respectively designated January 15, 2011, and August 27, 2011, as Houston Chinese Folk Music Ensemble Day.
